Fruity Merchant Enterprises is owned and
operated by Apricot, a young enthusiastic merchant and
her unruffled assistant, Cantalope. They
haven't quite settled on a motto, but you'll often hear Apricot exclaiming, "I'm
a Merchant, not a fruit! Don't bite me!".
To acquire inventory, Apricot orders goods
from abroad, contracts with local merchants like Skyblue (who offers weaponry for sale) and also sells goods for local townsfolk like yourself. For a
modest 15% commission the Merchants will take items off your burdened steed and
sell them for you. With their broad range of customers and their
reputation as the most thorough and bouncy merchants in town, your goods are
sure to sell!
Fruity Merchant Enterprises does not buy
merchandise from townsfolk, except on very rare circumstance. Rather, they
take goods on commission while you retain ownership.
They offer goods to the public at a flat
rate, except on items specifically meant to be auctioned. If you are
considering putting your merchandise on consignment with Fruity Merchant
Enterprises, please take a brief look at the Request
For Consignment (RFC) form then return here. This is the form you
would fill out to have your items listed with the Merchants.
The form asks for an Item Description,
Quantity and Desired Price. An Item Description is what you see when you
'TAP' an item. Quantity is the amount you wish to sell and Desired Price
is the amount you would like to sell your item(s) at. With their extensive
experience with Athenian customers and their knowledge of what people are
willing to pay, the Merchants may vary the retail price of your item if they
feel it is necessary. Such a change would be discussed with you
beforehand.
If you have an item that should be
auctioned off, be sure to indicate this on the RFC and use the 'Desire Price'
field to list the minimum bid, if applicable. If any of your items have
special qualities such as scripts, extended descriptions or unusual holding
capacities, please indicate this on the form within the 'Item Description'
field.
When the Merchants receive an RFC they will
look over the goods you've submitted then contact you to arrange a meeting.
At the meeting the goods will be discussed, any necessary price changes will be
made and a determination of the viability of the goods will also be made.
Some goods are too common or of such minimal value (for example, 'a nicked
dagger') that the Merchants will not take them on consignment. They will
then take the items to be sold from you so that they may be inventoried and
added to the Inventory Goods list.
Once the items are available for sale and
have begun to sell, you may contact the Merchants at any time and arrange a
meeting to discuss the status of your goods or to receive your current dinar
balance. A list of your goods and their individual sales status is also
available at any time, upon request.
After a certain period of time (to be
determined at the Merchant's sole discretion) has passed, the Merchants may
offer to buy out your unsold items with a single lump sum purchase. This
will only be done if your goods have been available for sale for some time but
have not been sold. This is the Merchant's guarantee, your goods will sell. Ideally, they will all sell at the asking price and such a buyout
would be unnecessary, but if they do not, the Merchants are willing to ensure
that your goods sell and you receive a return from all of your goods listed with
Fruity Merchant Enterprises.
If you have any questions or concerns about
the process please don't hesitate to contact Fruity
Merchant Enterprises. If you are ready, check out the Request For Consignment (RFC) form!
