Scarf Verbs

Some special merchants carry richly, rainbow, and vividly colored scarves. Special thanks to Katie and Cindi for their assistance in compiling the following examples.

PULL
Katie deftly knots the scarves end to end into a long, shimmery length. After displaying the scarves to the audience, she grasps the ends and gives the scarves a brisk *SNAP* that is accompanied by a tiny puff of smoke. Before the grey haze dissipates, it is obvious that the scarves have disappeared!

Katie cracks her knuckles, then forms a fist with one hand. Blowing quickly into the fist, she waves the palm of her free hand back and forth, then pulls the scarves, one bright length after another, out from her fist! Ta da!

PUSH
Katie crumples the scarves into a miraculously tiny wad that seems to get smaller and smaller. Pushing the scarves together between her palms, she then claps her hands! The scarves have disappeared!

Snapping her fingers, Katie reaches out to someone in her audience. Staring intently into Cindi's eyes with a murmured incantation, Katie begins to pull the scarves right out of her ear!

TOSS
Katie runs a hand quickly along the length of the scarves, separating them into bright lengths that she begins to toss into the air in a graceful, showy display of manual dexterity.

Hand over hand, bending slightly to catch the scarves as they float in mid-air, Katie flings the scarves higher and higher, then does a pirouette, breathlessly catching each of the scarves as they drift slowly downward.

LOOK IN
You hold a colorful jumble of some vividly colored scarves so sheer that they are almost transparent.
